Overview

The National Spine Health Foundation’s work highlights the connection between spine and bone health/osteoporosis given a recent meta-analysis [PLoS One 2023; 18(5)] noting the significant prevalence of osteoporosis in patients undergoing spine surgery: • 27.8% of women age 50-59 (peaking at 75.4% of women age 70-79) • 18.9% of men age 50-59 (peaking at 26.1% of men age 70-79)
